Vienna recently played host to an unforgettable culinary evening as renowned Filipino chef, restaurateur, and artist Chef Claude Tayag visited the city for a special cooking demonstration.

The event was held at The Andante, a kitchen for culinary events located in Vienna’s 3rd district, and was organized by the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, assisted by sige!.

Chef Tayag captivated guests with stories and flavors from the Philippines.

Highlighting two iconic dishes: sisig, the sizzling and boldly seasoned Kapampangan classic, and kinilaw, the fresh and vibrant Filipino take on ceviche. Through his demo, he showcased the depth of Filipino cuisine—rooted in tradition yet open to interpretation.

The evening also served as a platform to promote Chef Tayag’s celebrated adobo book, a tribute to the Philippines’ unofficial national dish.

Guests had the rare opportunity to view and purchase his artworks, reflecting his creative expression beyond the kitchen.

The event was graced by H.E. Ambassador Arroyo-Bernas and warmly hosted by Gerard Rabara, who guided the evening with charm and enthusiasm.
