Global Colors: Art Without Borders

The United Nations Headquarters in Vienna recently became the stage of collaboration, as Filipino art collectives Sige!, The Bastedor Art Project, The Angono Atelier, and the VIC Art Club came together for an unprecedented exhibition.

The event highlighted the strength of Filipino creativity and its ability to build bridges across communities, cultures, and continents. Each participating group shared their story during the program. The Angono Atelier spoke passionately about the rich art heritage of Rizal and the importance of its preservation. The Bastedor Art Project emphasized how their collective’s work contributes to supporting underprivileged children in the Philippines. The Sige! collective highlighted the power of collaboration between local and foreign Filipinos, alongside international colleagues. The VIC Art Club expressed deep gratitude for being part of the event and for the cultural exchange it fostered within the United Nations community.

The exhibit brought together master and contemporary artists

Nemi Miranda, Bernardo Balagtas, Cecille Artillaga, Addie Cukingnan, Lara Latosa, Meneline Wong, Norlie Meimban, Harold Khan, Marie Khan, Ronald Salazar, Arnel Garcia, Richard Buxani, Charmaine Taus, KC Cruz, Rob Detoyato, Ren Mangaban, Ines, Margo Le-Lain, and Junever Mahilum West. Hosted with warmth and energy by Marizel Rojas, the evening was filled with art, music, and meaningful exchange.

The event was more than just an exhibitbut a celebration of Filipino artistry, unity, and its growing presence on the global stage.

Rosalie Gonzales delivered another captivating live performance on the flute, sparking spontaneous dancing among artists and guests alike. The atmosphere was further energized by the presence of Matthias Stelzmüller of Skate the World, who joined the celebration as a special guest. Attendees enjoyed light snacks and drinks while engaging in conversations around art, culture, and community.

Marizel Rojas closed the program by giving heartfelt shoutouts to ENFiD (European Network of Filipino Diaspora) and the UN Building Administration for their support in making the exhibition possible.
