From May 31 to June 15, 2025, Vienna transformed into a vibrant hub of inclusivity as Vienna Pride—the nation’s largest LGBTIQ human rights festival.
Filling the city with events ranging from cultural performances and Pride Run to the flagship Pride Conference on June 6 and the Pride Village at Rathausplatz from June 12–14
over 250,000 people marched along the Ringstraße in solidarity for equality and acceptance
Among the participants, members of Sige! made a notable appearance.
Gerard Rabara—a spirited advocate representing Vienna’s local gay community—brought energy and visibility to events in the Pride Village and joined the parade, engaging with attendees and speaking on community issues.
Filipino LGBT Europe Austria Country Coordinator Angelo Tagle.
Angelo Tagle participated as a delegate representing LGBT Europe, emphasizing the importance of national solidarity within the broader European LGBTIQ movement.
The attendance of Chris Sta Brigida, Chairperson of the Ayuda sa Amsterdam Team, further underscored the international reach of Vienna Pride.
His presence signified cross-border cooperation and support for LGBTIQ communities across Europe.
Organizers and speakers repeatedly noted that while Pride is a celebration, it’s also a vital platform for advocacy.
In light of recent political developments—particularly the rise in conservative policies following Austria’s October 2024 elections—Pride participants voiced calls for stronger legal measures, including banning conversion therapies and protecting intersex youth.
This year’s Vienna Pride not only reaffirmed celebration and solidarity but also reinforced Sige!’s ongoing commitment—through figures like Gerard Rabara and Angelo Tagle—to both local and European LGBTIQ rights.
With support from figures like Chris Sta Brigida, Vienna Pride reaffirmed that global collaboration remains crucial in the fight for equality.
